My Students

As a teacher of a school that pulls from high poverty and low-income area, my students face several challenges both in and out of school. Currently, our school district is 100% virtual. Over 70% of our students are English as second language learners. All of our students receive free breakfast, free lunch, and free dinner. Despite the challenges, my students are always excited to come to school to learn. Their determination to succeed is amazing. They inspire me every day to be the best teacher I can possibly be.

My Project

I currently teach second grade to 20 wonderful students from a low-income area. Our school district has been 100% virtual from the beginning of the year. The computer I currently have is older and does not run well. This causes constant glitching and delayed responses. The computer is very slow and takes a while to open up different programs. With virtual learning, I need something more reliable for my students so that they are less frustrated and able to focus more on their education. This laptop will help me run all of our programs, and more, while providing meaningful instruction virtually.
