The students that will benefit from this project are often not yet familiar with our music program. I work in a large city school with a diverse student body. Students come from different countries, often speaking different languages, and with varying academic experiences.
Our music program offers choral and instrumental classes, including choirs, bands, piano and guitar classes, music theory and history classes.
It can sometimes be difficult to provide the most quality experiences for these students with our budgetary restrictions.
The chairs in our piano lab are original to our 15 year old building. They are beat up and broken; the heights no longer adjust. This ability to adjust is absolutely essential to making sure students can have healthy, proper posture while they're in the most formative learning stages of playing the piano.
We are wanting to replace these old broken chairs with new, adjustable chairs for both student and teacher lab stations.
This will make students more comfortable, more able to focus on their playing, and all-around happier!
Look for future projects to help us replace other parts of our lab!
