Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I refer to my students as diamonds. They are all bright and shiny but each is different and unique in their own special way. My classroom is very diverse. It is made up of students of a multitude of different ethnicities, including African American, Hispanic, Caucasian, and Asian American. They all come from a low socio-economic background.
Most of my diamonds live with grandparents and other family members, and some are homeless and transient.
Despite the struggles and adversities my students are going through, they always show up to school with smiles on their faces. They love school and are always ready to learn. Their parents or guardians can't afford to purchase school supplies when they are having a hard time putting food on the table. It is my mission to provide them with what they need to be productive in their educational journey.
My diamonds are beginning readers and they need help. They need the proper level readers to help them start their reading journey.
