I am fortunate to serve inquisitive and creative students in a large urban school district. The majority of my students come from economically disadvantaged neighborhoods, and, therefore, qualify for free breakfasts and lunches. Despite facing hardships like poverty and difficult situations at home, my students show up and work hard in order to learn and better their situations.
My students work hard and recognize that they need practice to be successful on the upcoming AP Biology exam in May.
In order to ease relieve their test anxiety and help them achieve their goals of obtaining qualifying scores on the AP exam, we need high quality review materials to help us prepare for the rigor of the exam.
My Project
In the past, my students have often had doors closed to them, academically. I have the distinct honor of helping to open some doors to their higher potentials by teaching an advanced placement science course at my urban high school. The majority of my students are from disadvantaged backgrounds. Most of them have never taken an advanced placement course or AP exam. Naturally, many of my students are apprehensive about sitting for the AP Biology exam in May.
With your help, I would love to be able to help alleviate some of their stress and anxiety over this exam by providing them with Cliff's Notes AP Biology Exam preparation books.
I believe that these review materials would provide a much needed boost to my students' confidence, and that they would provide the catalyst that the students need in order to achieve a qualifying score on the exam. These books provide a condensed version of the course material which will be especially useful for review in preparation for the exam.
