My students need headphones and privacy partitions to learn independently and with minimal distractions. Two of the biggest distractions are seeing and hearing what other students are doing.

My Students
I teach 5th grade Math & Science to an eager group of learners in eastern North Carolina. My students love to learn and explore the world around them.
My classroom incorporates a blended learning environment where students work at their own pace using a combination of technology and traditional classroom practices.
This model of learning provides each student with a personalized education in which they are able to grow with minimal constraints. It makes use of a variety of internet-based tools in order to meet the needs of each learner.
My Project
My classroom is a blended learning environment where we combine traditional learning methods with technologically focused methods. When we use Chromebooks to work independently and on differentiated tasks, students often get distracted by what other students are doing. To keep students on task, I need to minimize distractions. Privacy dividers allow students to work without others seeing what they are doing. Headphones allow students to work without others hearing what they are doing. Together, these two items will help students to focus on the work they have been assigned, which is at their specific level. Students who are at a lower level will no longer feel awkward when their work is different from others because everyone will have their own private space.
