My students are enjoying the materials and having a fantastic start to the new year. The social emotional games have provided a fun way to initiate conversation about appropriate school behaviors and ways to handle emotions. The games are allowing opportunities for students to build relationships with one another and with me. These lessons can be used at school and in their homes and neighborhoods.\r\n\r\nI also wanted to thank you for the supplies for our treat bucket. Not only are the students learning and practicing appropriate behavior, they are being rewarded with items. There is now a variety of tangible items, some for eating and some for arts and crafts. I was also able to restock a few food items in our Classroom Care Closet. The closet is stocked with items that help meet basic needs like food and hygiene products. I have been through a few years of difficulty and let many things slide that I shouldn't have. \r\n\r\nI left my previous school in 2023 and stopped teaching Science as I moved to middle school Math. Before I left, my students were able to use the supplies you provided for us. There were slides for our microscopes that allowed students to see bones are made of cells. We used the ecosystem kit to simulate what might happen in different environments when changes are made. Students saw the ripple effects of pollution, introduction of a new species, or loss of one. It was truly an eye opening experience for them!\r\n\r\nI left all the supplies with a new teacher who still teaches Science there and uses everything I left. My students are now more excited than ever to take an active role in their learning. It's amazing to see how this simple change has helped them stay focused, participate more, and really enjoy their lessons.\r\n\r\nThe flexible seating options have also made our classroom more inclusive. Some students prefer a quiet, cozy spot, while others thrive when they can wiggle and move as they work. Having choices means that every child can find what works best for them, and that's helping everyone do their very best.\r\n\r\nOn top of all that, the ability to move around and switch up their posture has made a huge difference in how my students feel during the day. They're less restless, more comfortable, and ready to tackle challenges with a positive attitude.\r\n\r\nThis project has brought so much joy and energy to our classroom, and it wouldn't have been possible without your support.
