Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My first graders are curious and eager to learn. My students are predominantly Hispanic and are English Language Learners. My school is an urban school, and food insecurities and poverty are tough for our families and their children. Nonetheless, they are resilient, loving, empathetic, and enthusiastic learners. The pandemic has had a profound impact on my students and their families. Our school has come together as we always do,

With the transition to in-person learning, technology has continued to play a significant role in our everyday instruction.

My students are continuing to access the curriculum through Google Classroom, we are using creative online resources combined with a SmartBoard, helping to keep learning fun while continuing to hold high expectations for each child to progress and grow in everything they do.

I am finding myself in great need of a new and reliable laptop. The desktop computer I am currently using is not compatible with too many important other pieces of technology.

My Project

My students will be able to participate in twenty-first century technology and enhance their skills. I will be able to deliver instruction in unique and exciting modes, sparking a great interest in them. Some of these lessons will be conducted on Near Pod, St Math, Imagine Learning and Savaas Realize.

While at home during the 2020-2019 school year, I began using technology which I had never been exposed too.

I guess there are some positives to what we have just experienced. This computer will make it possible for me to plan , research, deliver, practice high quality curriculum and instruction.
