Help me give my students a mail center. My students will be able to go to the mail center and will be able to write letters to their classmates. They will be able to spread kindness!!
“It's not about what it is, it's about what it can become.” ― Dr. Seuss, The Lorax
My students are a group of capable, curious, and precious children.
They love to explore the world around them. They need access to books and materials that encourage kindness and creativity. These books and materials will be used in a writing "mail" center in the classroom that will allow students to write letters of kindness to others.
I teach at an amazing elementary school located in a rural community. It houses Pre-K through Fifth grade. It is a Title I school, with 68% of our students receiving free or reduced-price lunch.
I teach first grade. My students are fabulous! They are very capable individuals with a strong desire to learn. They are constantly exploring the world around them and astound me with their insight and curiosity. They are some of the kindest, sweetest individuals you would ever meet, and they are so appreciative of anything and everything!
My Project
These materials will help me give my students a mail center. In the mail center, students will be able to write letters to their classmates. This will allow for kindness to be shown through our writing! Students will use the cards and envelopes to write the letters to their classmates, we will use the mailbox to put our mail in so we will know when all of the letters are ready to be passed out. The stand-up pocket chart will be used for a writing prompt if the students are having a hard time thinking about something to write about. The different books will be used to read aloud before we do our writing for the mail center. The cupcake display will help remind us of birthdays so we can write birthday cards!
This mail center will be used to spread kindness all throughout our classroom and just maybe throughout the entire school!
With your help, my students will be able to learn not just how to write a letter to someone but will get to see how it feels to make others happy.
