Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My kindergarteners are an active, curious, adventurous bunch! Now more than ever they need new, hands on math manipulatives to engage them in learning numbers to 100, counting objects with 1:1 correspondence, addition and subtraction fluency and identifying 2D and 3D shapes and their attributes. What better way to make math more exciting than by making it GLOW! This table will also be used in literacy centers to help with letter name and sound identification, sight word practice and other word work activities. In addition to making math and literacy more engaging, students will be able to explore their artistic side by using the light table as a tracing table for drawings and practicing handwriting! It can also be used in science to make observations and investigate with magnifying glasses! This light table will open up lots of possibilities for engaging new ways to learn in our classroom!
