My students need soccer balls to keep them active during outdoor recess. My class loves soccer and plays almost daily. With 100 students trying to share a limited supply, it becomes difficult.

My Students
I have been teaching in an urban setting for nineteen years. Fifteen years of my career have been spent at my current school, where I believe in the students and staff that I work with every day.
I teach in an urban environment where my students are often lacking basic needs such as proper nutrition and emotional support.
I try to be a stable presence in the lives of my students and provide them with not only academic needs but also fundamental needs that they need to succeed in life.
My students are curious and excited 5th graders who love to learn and experience new things. In my science and social studies classes, the students are eager to learn about the past and the world around them. They are hands-on learners. We enjoy learning about history and watching actual video clips of the past. I love to bring the learning into the classroom in a practical way and make it real for my students.
My Project
My students love being outdoors and being active. While they do have a few options to choose from during outdoor recess, soccer is by far the most popular one!
Having 100 fifth grade students makes it difficult to share a limited supply of playground equipment.
We would love to have more soccer balls to share. I love to seem them running, active and happy during recess and having an abundance of equipment to share will make that happen!
Though we started the year with four, we are down to only one soccer ball to share among all the students. Often times, a ball is accidentally kicked over the fence into traffic and the kids are down another ball.
