My students need an iPod touch and a dock for our iPod so that we can not only use the iPod for a center, but also play music on it when we are writing and working!!
Help us enhance our "writing zone" time with music on our iPod dock and use our iPod touch to make our center time even more fun!!
My students are so much fun!
They work so hard everyday! Although our school is not in a high poverty area, we still have very limited resources. We do not receive Title I funds, so our funds are extremely scarce. They value any resource or idea that causes them to use higher order thinking skills and that strays from the norm (a worksheet)!
My Project
My students need an enriched curriculum and the ipod touch can help me provide them with that! They can use the iPod to access the Internet for things such as research and access to web subscriptions. They complete a research journal assignment each week. They could do research on the Internet on the ipod as well as on our computers!
Since they have limited access to the computers at school with only 2 working computers,each child will get a turn to research much quicker! They can also access the hundreds of educational apps that are available! There is a wonderful flash card app that makes practicing math facts so much more fun! Also there is a brain pop app that they can use to watch a meaningful short educational video.
They can also use the camera on the new iPod model to complete fun, out of the ordinary assignments such as taking pictures of verbs or nouns! What a fun break from the ordinary humdrum day!!
This project is so important because I have a high population of gifted students and they deserve an enriching classroom environment.
A typical classroom environment with the bare minimum and normal assignments can be extremely boring and not rewarding to them. Having access to more technology will open up opportunities for so many hands on learning experiences!
