Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

A Reading Garden allows students a calming, relaxing, and peaceful place to read. Students will be able to use the benches to sit and read their books. Students will fill the bird feeders and bird bath for the birds.

Maintaining the the bird feeders and bird bath supports endless opportunities for learning for students.

Students will take on ownership skills while caring for the garden and helping birds and butterflies in nature. Students will learn about responsibility since they will be in charge of filling the bird feeders and taking care of the garden.

Students will be learning practical real life skills by building an appreciation for the world around us. Students will develop and implement a plan on where to place the bird feeders, bird bath, and seeds to encourage birds and butterflies to enjoy our reading garden. They will be engaged and motivated to read outdoors while listening to the peaceful sounds of nature and birds chirping. The garden will be a reading garden and a nature garden to share with nature around us.
