My Students

We were excited to learn that another school system had donated desks for our classroom following the tornado that struck out school and town back in March. But, it is hard to keep all of our books and belongings inside the desks!

The fifth graders in my classroom have been through a lot this spring.

Many have lost their homes, some have damaged homes, and all have lost their school that they have attended since kindergarten. They have been so excited to find out that there are many people outside of our community who want to help them and all of the citizens of our town recover what has been lost and rebuild to make it a better place.

My Project

One of the things that has made our new classroom better has been the desks that were donated to us from another school system. Though the desk are not new, they are much more roomy for growing fifth graders. The only problem is that it is hard to keep all of the belongings inside!

If my students had seat sacks in which to store the items that they need to keep handy at their work stations, they could stay more organized and be able to find the items they need much more quickly and efficiently.
