Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Kinder students are visual learners that's why many of the lessons require taking pictures as a visual aid. Our class does not have a camera to take pictures for the lessons or to record many of the great activities that we do in class.
My classroom is composed of a 20 wonderful five and six year olds that love exploring and discovering new things.
They love hands-on activities specially Science lessons. Our school is located in a very poor part of town and most of the students are recent immigrants. As their teacher, I want to do the most I can for them and that includes capturing all of the great activities we do in class. The digital camera that I am requesting in this project, will help me take pictures that will facilitate learning as well as take pictures and videos of them so they will never forget those memorable moments we shared together.
My Project
The digital camera that I am requesting in this project, will help in many different ways in my kinder class. First and foremost, this camera will help me take pictures for many of the Science and Social Studies lessons. Many of the lessons require that I record the weather, people around our school, plant growth, etc. and since I don't have a camera, I always have to go around the hall borrowing from other teachers and hoping that they are not using it or that their cameras have batteries.
A digital camera will also help me video tape special events that my students participate in and take pictures of all the different activities that we do in class. I will then be able to print the pictures to create a memory book at the end of the year for them. With a digital camera, we can also publish classroom books that the students can call their own.
As you see, there are many different ways that this project will help make our classroom better.
With your donations, this camera will be an essential part of making my student's education a success. The pictures will enrich my lessons visually and my students will be delighted to create their own books. My students and I thank you in advance for your generosity in making this project a reality. This camera will bring lots of joy to my present and future student.
