Students take turns using them during independent reading, buddy reading, and even during our \"Author's Chair\" activity, where they share their own writing with the class. The comfortable space has helped many students focus longer and engage more deeply with books.\r\nRight now, we're working on a reading response project where students choose a book they've read and create a mini drawing to share their thoughts, favorite parts, and lessons learned. The next step is turning some of these into short book reviews to display in our classroom library!\r\nThanks to your support, our classroom feels more like a home for learning—and we couldn't be more grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1701966890529,"projectUrl":"project/a-reader-today-a-leader-tomorrow/8029441/","projectTitle":"A Reader Today, A Leader Tomorrow!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Medellin","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9368484"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_8174","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":350,"numTeachers":30,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":1,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":97,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"11.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":35.2,"schoolId":8174,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Southmost Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Southmost Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/brownsville-independent-school-district/southmost-elementary-school/8174"}
