This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are awesome! They are very inquisitive and always want to learn more. Many of them come from underprivileged homes, where they do not have many resources to use to help them continue to foster their love of learning. Reading is such a fundamental and essential part of learning and many of the children do not have many books of their own.

Each child in my classroom loves to learn and I want to be able to provide the best resources for them to do so.

I am asking for donations to help me purchase a class set of the book, Wonder. This book is a perfect way to teach children about friendship, understanding that everyone is different, and the freedom to express oneself.

My Project

Our class wants to start a novel study, and what better book to do so than "Wonder" by R.J. Palacio! Through this book, I will be able to expose and teach my scholars the importance of friendship and acceptance. This is something that all scholars, especially those in underprivileged schools and communities, will benefit from learning.

I want my scholars to understand the importance of friendship and accepting who they are.

People are different in many ways and I want to show them that these differences make us who we are and that it is ok to be different!
