My fourth grade students (I call them the University Academics to foster the idea that they should uphold the work ethic and commitment of college students!) have been eagerly learning all about our solar system, the Milky Way Galaxy, the planets, moons and stars. They have written research papers and spent countless hours preparing presentations for the rest of their classmates. They are so excited about learning more about space! I would like their hardwork and curiousity to really come to fruition by taking them to the American Museum of Natural History to see the exhibit Cosmic Collisions in the Hayden Planetarium! The field trip will not only be a wonderful reward for the hard work the students have done, but it will also be a fabulous learning experience for them and hopefully continue to nurture their interest and love of space. This field trip would really bring our classroom study to reality! I would like to allow them to see this exciting show and get to experience the amazing treasures the American Museum of Natural History has for them to explore. The cost of the show is $5 per person. For my class to go fully funded (22 students and 4 chaperons) the funds needed are $130. I thank you in advance for even considering this very generous gift. I know my University Academics would greatly appreciate, learn from, and enjoy this exciting experience. Thank you!
