My students need a classroom projector, because it will allow them to be more interactive with their learning and provide much needed visual support.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Resource Room students have a variety of disabilities from autism to specific learning disabilities. Most of my students are reading significantly below grade level. They receive support in literacy, writing, or math, or some combination of those subjects. They need lots of visual support and benefit from seeing actual sources versus problems or information copied on the board.
My students are from a very low income city and many of them are English Language Learners as well as requiring Special education.
Most classrooms in our building have projectors, however, there is not enough funding for all Resource Rooms to have the same technology. My students will benefit from the consistency in instruction.
My Project
Students with learning disabilities frequently have stronger visual learning skills than auditory learning skills. In addition, many of our students are English Language Learners and need visuals to enhance vocabulary acquisition.
Having this projector would allow us to interact with our learning by putting it right on the white board.
The projector will be used in my room daily for phonics, writing and math groups. Students can have visual support for stories, watch educational and movement videos (GoNoodle) videos, and see examples of math concepts right in front of them. We have found that using these projectors as part of daily instruction increases student engagement and mastery of concepts.
