My students need a variety of reading activities that cover a wide range of reading levels that reflect the levels within our classroom.

My Students

Times, they are a changing and classrooms are built out of so many levels and backgrounds. My classrooms cover a wide span, but each student is eager to do their very best work.

My classrooms are made up of 24 fifth grade students.

My students reading levels range from a first grade to a sixth grade level. The students that enter my classes daily have hearts of gold and always want to do their very best work, no matter how easy or difficult an assignment may be. They give it their all each day and want to be successful.

My Project

I am requesting two different reading activities. One is a series of individual reading activities. These range from 4th-6th grade and cover the reading skills that we teach throughout the year. This would be beneficial to my students because it would give them an educational alternative when they finish an assignment. Students can work at their own pace and reading level and reinforce their skills after they've finished their regular classroom assignments. The second is a set of learning centers. Again, this would let my students reinforce their reading skills in a variety of ways in groups with peers. Students can move through the various stations to practice these important skills in a fun and interactive way. Both can be used to reinforce skills for students who might be struggling. It can also help enrich the learning of students who finish an assignment with ease and want to continue to be challenged.

I want the very best for my students.

With so many different types of learners, it is often time consuming and challenging to find activities that can be tiered across the board. Activities like these will help me spend more time working with my students and more importantly, allow them to work on their reading skills at their own pace and within their own comfort level.
