We are still working through the novel in class, but students are enjoying the material and connecting with the story. \r\nLast year, I used the novel, however, I didn't have a copy for each student to read. Having a class set of the novels is a game changer for several reasons. First, I am able to appropriately differentiate my classrooms by having some rooms read it on their own and others follow along. It also makes finding text evidence and activities easier when students can look at a copy in front of them. The students at Spinning Hills Middle School have used the owl pellets that were donated and had a great experience! This project happened at the end of our life science unit when students learned about the life cycle. Students had the ability to dissect owl pellets to see what their owl consumed and digested by matching the bones they found with certain creatures. \r\n\r\nThey loved this lab and had so much fun with it! Many students said that this was their favorite lab of the school year so far. This generous gift to our school had a huge impact.
