My Students

From Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star to Beethoven, we can achieve anything here! That's what we want the students to know! Imagine walking into a room full of instruments and music, and you've never played anything before. Our goal is to take our students from 0 to 100 in a short amount of time.

Our school is a large, diverse middle school in Houston with over sixteen hundred students and over three hundred are in orchestra.

We have successful fine arts programs, sports teams and other elective classes. We have students from a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds and cultures.

My Project

Having a Yamaha Harmony director will benefit each orchestra class by providing an all-in-one metronome, drone, and piano keyboard. We will be able to stop during a lesson, play a sustained pitch or pitches, and it allows the teacher to be hands free and help the students adjust.

We are able to use it as a metronome and use it for pitch reference at the same time, which cuts down on the amount of devices we need at one time.

The Harmony Director will even allow us to sustain multiple pitches at a time, which will help with our intonation work throughout the year.

This comprehensive teaching tool is ideal for the orchestra classroom and we cannot wait to use it with all of our students each day!
