Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

Our school is currently on the path to become one of the only complete systems in our state to be STEM accredited. We have spent the school year focusing on more STEM activities than we ever have. During our lessons we realized how important it is to start collecting materials ahead of time and how many things that get thrown away could be essential in our lessons. In order to properly store and organize these materials, our grade level is in need of lots of storage containers. Our students absolutely love being able to connect Fables and Folk tales we read in class and address the STEM problems we present them with. In order to provide them with more opportunities, we need to work to collect materials throughout the year so we aren't spending so much money out of pocket at the last minute.
