My Students

My students are really excited to learn in a new way online using a platform that we used in the classroom-Seesaw. They go on every day and complete Number Corner, math, and literacy activities. I always post at least one fun activity a week. For example, for National Superhero Day, they got to take their picture and turn themselves into a superhero. They are loving virtual learning and are doing their best with what their families are able to afford to buy with many losing much of their income.

I don't have the supplies at home to teach my Super Readers and Super Writers to read and write.

I had 15 minutes to grab things that I would need to teach without knowing how long schools would be closed. I grabbed some curriculum books, magnetic letters, a Hover Cam, and some books to read for read alouds. I would love to have materials to help them continue to grow their brains in virtual reading and writing meetings!

My Project

These materials will help me work with students in small and one on one teaching groups from a distance during Google Hangouts. There are students in my class that are still working on mastering their letters and letter sounds. These materials will give me the resources to teach them these very important early literacy skills.

My students still want to learn even though we aren't in the classroom together.

They really enjoy meeting with me in one on one groups to work on skills that they are continuing to struggle mastering. I will be able to use these materials for years to come when we are back in the classroom together in small groups too.
