My Students

Ever want to learn how to do something? My students are eager to learn how to do so many things that we created a writing unit for students to learn and share their how-to. In order to support students with their writing unit we need to provide them with examples of this type of writing.

As a literacy specialist I help students who are below grade level in reading and/or writing.

My students are motivated and excited to learn new things, however are not meeting their grade level expectations. The students attend a Charter School in a low socioeconomic area and qualify for free breakfast and lunch. Our school is struggling to purchase materials based on today's economy. Our budgets are currently frozen and we are struggling to support students with resources we have on hand.

My Project

Students are interested learning about drawing and discovering how to do new things. In addition, they want to share their knowledge with their classmates and friends. The resources needed are high interest texts to support and engage students within the nonfiction writing unit. The books requested are books students have expressed interest in reading and learning more about in order to help them write their How-To.

The donations for this project hold the opportunity to help my students become engaged and excited to read and learn!

Students who otherwise fall between the cracks or are unable to perform on grade level. The books hold the power to motivate and empower students to learn and share their knowledge with someone else. With your help we can support students and enable them to feel confident! Who wouldn't want to help empower a child?
