My Students

I am greeted by twenty bubbly and smiley faces every morning! I am the proud "school mom" of students who work above and beyond the expectations to please themselves, their families, and each other. They are creative, clever, and charming.

I am blessed to have the opportunity to help build my student's future! My students love to Read They enjoy reading and working around the classroom.

My Project

In fourth grade, we cover social studies and science topics in our language arts units. Our first unit in language arts focuses on how America has changed, using stories related to social studies. Our second unit, focuses on risk and consequences, using stories related to science.

My students partake in literature circles in our classroom along with reading stories in our language arts textbooks.

Using literature circles as way for students to learn even more about certain topics we read in language arts. For example, students have read stories like "Two Tickets to Freedom" and "Langston Hughes". As a way for students to learn more about this time period, they read non-fiction texts to help support the comprehension of this time period and certain events that took place.

We are looking for new literature circle books to help our comprehension in our upcoming language arts units. We are looking for "Who Was" and "What Was" books on famous scientists, slaves, and events that helped shape our history!
