Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you believe in the power of music in the lives of students? Our program is growing and my students have the desire to perform, but we are out of instruments. The single biggest challenge that we face in our program is not teaching our students, but having enough instruments for them to play.

My students are the hardest working and most kind people that I have encountered.

Our school continues to achieve academic excellence despite obstacles that students face. Just recently, our percussion students won six out of ten positions in the all-city band. Their hard work, dedication, and responsibility, proves that they deserve the very best educational opportunities.

My Project

The marching drums, stands and cases requested in this project will allow students to compete and perform at competitions, football games, parades, community events, as soloists, and ensemble members. The drumline equipment requested in this project will replace and add to our severely worn equipment that is nearly twenty years old. Using the drumline equipment in this project, students will learn teamwork, discipline, and how to perform advanced music for years to come. This equipment will significantly impact our student body and school spirit.

Our educational experiences and resources should not be determined by the zip code in which we live.

Unfortunately, we live in a society in which the funding of education is both inequitable and inadequate. This project will help restore equity and adequacy to our students' experience and give them the opportunities of many of their peers in the metro area. Please consider partnering with us to bring a world class music education to our students.
