My Project

Our students come from many diverse backgrounds and cultures. It can be hard to stock a library that represents all different types of students who are at different reading levels and different reading interests. These books help represent the interests of some of our most reluctant readers. Students who have never finished a book of their own choosing are reading now but need more materials to keep them hooked! This is a great problem!

Manga and graphic novels, which are books that our struggling readers feel confident reading, are expensive.

These books are hard to find at secondhand stores. Additionally, most stores don't have the correct volumes that the students need. I have asked our students for books they are interested in, and these books were repeatedly mentioned.

I hope to have this project filled as we read every day in class for at least fifteen minutes. These materials would help all readers feel confident in their reading material!
