Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This school year is my 16th year in the classroom! I am doing my best to provide my students with a fun and fulfilling school year. We are part of a Title I school with very little funding but with a big heart!

I am teaching a group of fourth graders that love reading, writing, and math!

Hands-on exploring is what allows us to really understand new concepts. With the help of new bulletin board materials, our year will be off to a fantastic start!

My Project

My students are often working hard in groups on writing projects. Many times, my small timer sits up front of the class and the students struggle to see it. I have to call out how many minutes are left, and they feel very rushed. Having their own timers at each group would be a huge help and will allow for students to feel less rushed and will encourage them to take ownership of their time. Additionally, ordering one large timer for all to see, will be helpful for independent work time.

Once students are done with their beautiful work I want to hang it up for all to see, but sometimes these pieces get ruined or torn accidentally.
