The excitement in our pre-K classroom has been through the roof ever since our new sewing supplies arrived. The children couldn't wait to open the boxes, explore the colorful materials, and start creating. What may seem like simple thread, needles, and fabric has truly opened up a world of imagination, creativity, and problem-solving for our little learners.\r\n\r\nAs a teacher, I am deeply grateful for how this project has enriched our classroom. The sewing materials have become a staple in our creative area, and the students often ask if they can \"sew something new\" during free play. It's inspiring to see how such young children can express themselves through hands-on learning, develop pride in their work, and build cultural understanding at the same time.","fullyFundedDate":1746472235467,"projectUrl":"project/dressing-up-pre-k-handmade-clothing-adv/9287894/","projectTitle":"Dressing up Pre-K: Handmade Clothing Adventure!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. HERNANDEZ","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7485451_orig.jpg?crop=1451,1451,x796,y665&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1690071443327","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7485451"},{"teacherId":270730,"projectId":9330724,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generous support, our classroom—and more importantly, our school community—has experienced something truly special. With the medals, trophies, and sports certificates you helped fund, we were able to host our very own \"mini Olympics,\" celebrating the athletic achievements and sportsmanship of every student.\r\n\r\nThe moment the students first saw the awards was unforgettable. Their eyes lit up with excitement and pride! For many of them, it was the first time they had ever received a trophy or medal. They couldn't stop talking about it, and some even brought their awards to other classes to show them off. It was clear that your contribution made them feel seen, valued, and celebrated—not just as athletes, but as part of a team and school family.\r\n\r\nOne particularly touching moment was during our relay race final. A student who usually stays quiet in class led her team to victory—and when she received her medal, her classmates gave her a standing ovation. That moment of recognition boosted her confidence in a way that no lesson ever could.\r\n\r\nCurrently, we're continuing to focus on sportsmanship and teamwork during all sports practices. Students are writing short reflections on what these values mean to them, using their own experiences from our \"mini Olympics\" as inspiration. We're also planning a student-led awards ceremony next season, where they'll help recognize peers for dedication, improvement, and spirit.\r\n\r\nour support did more than just buy awards—it created lasting memories, built confidence, and helped shape a culture of encouragement and recognition.
