Mrs. Strongin from Philadelphia PA is requesting reading nooks, desks & storage through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need pocket chair buddies and basic school supplies to help keep them organized. They are also in need of basic school supplies, such as a pencil sharpener and pencils, that will maximize their learning experience.

I have the absolute pleasure of working with an amazing group of students that have a wide range of abilities. They enter the classroom each and every day full of enthusiasm and an eagerness to learn. I have both fifth and six grade Autistic Support students who come from an impoverished neighborhood and lack the necessary materials that are desperately needed to not only aid in their success but also to enhance their learning experience, both academically and socially.
This exceptional group of children have so much potential and deserve only the best.
My students need highly differentiated instruction to learn adaptive, behavioral and academic skills. The disabilities in my classroom range between Autism and Intellectual Disability.
The materials that I am requesting will greatly improve my students organizational skills. Working with students with special needs, its important to keep things organized and easily accessible. The pocket chair buddies will greatly reduce the amount of times my students need to get out of their chairs to get their materials that are stored across the classroom and alleviate the stress losing their materials and assignments. Our classroom is also without basic supplies, such as an electric pencil sharper, colored pencils and chart paper. Some of my students struggle with fine motor skills and using manual pencil sharpeners can sometimes be troublesome and the cause of unnecessary anxiety.
