My students need 2 class sets of books, markers, pencils, organizers, and several other essential classroom supplies to help us start the year off right!
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
When I think "back-to-school", I remember going to school to pickup a plastic-wrapped package just for me. Inside were all of the folders, markers, books, pencils, pens, and even tissues that I'd need for the year. Knowing I'd have these supplies meant knowing I was ready to learn.
This year I am ready to work with all of our seventh graders!
I cannot wait to get back to school with my eager and hard working students. As they prepare for this crucial year, my students will spend more time than ever reading books, responding to these texts though writing, and discussing these books in small groups. Nothing brings me more pleasure than listening to my students critically analyze literature and ponder answers to questions they've generated. This year we will pay special attention to our identities as readers and as people. I can't wait to get to know my students more!
My Project
Back to school time is always exciting. I want to make sure that my students have the opportunity to sharpen their literacy skills in a clean, comfortable and safe classroom. This means that I need your help to provide them with certain basic supplies to help us start the year off right. Many of these supplies will help us maintain this environment throughout the school year so that we can achieve at the highest level. More specifically, I am requesting your help with getting my students books, paper, pencils, markers, etc. I am also asking for basic supplies like tissues, band-aids, and hand sanitizer to help keep our classroom safe. I also hope to help my students by equipping our classroom with plastic storage systems that allow for students to organize the materials we use, as well as to develop some autonomy and independence, skills that will serve them outside the walls of my classroom!!
One thing is certain, my excited, capable, and wonderful students will return to school very soon.
The classroom that they have to work in (and the supplies they can use to do the work we need to do) depends on you. Please help me ensure that my seventh graders are able to start their year off on a path towards success!
