This year I am so excited to grow with my students! I currently teach 7th grade Reading to all of our nearly 200 students in Missouri. I am looking forward to having an incredible journey with my students as we explore identity and become better versions of ourselves. The different abilities of each of my students poses an interesting challenge for us all. Despite these vast differences though, our classroom functions beautifully as its own community. Reading is crucial to this development, not only because it creates a common experience but because we are able to focus on building relationships and supporting one another in our learning. Students are able to share their feelings and ideas through writing, again contributing to a communal space and helping each individual grow.
