Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our school is a community school servicing a pre-kindergarten through eighth grade student population. A few years ago, we began a community garden on our school grounds which has been a huge success! We are in need of replenishing gardening materials. Our community garden has two composters, a rain barrel and a pollinator garden.

Teaching our children how to care for and grow herbs, vegetables and flowers will allow them to experience the rewards of gardening.

The AeroGarden Indoor Garden, seed pods and liquid plant food will allow us to start seedlings. Once the seedlings are established, we will be able to transplant them into our community garden. The garden stakes will help support our pollinator garden flowers and tomato plants.

Children will enjoy working along with teachers and community volunteers to literally see the "fruits of their labor". It is an excellent social and academic bonding experience for all.
