Help us graph: Graphing Calculators Needed For Students to Explore
My students need TI-nspire calculators to help facilitate learning. The students will explore mathematical and statistical concepts through simulations and a variety of tables, graphs, calculations and connections.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Technology is ever changing. There is new technology in math, the TI-Nspire, and not all families can afford to buy a new graphing calculator for their students. There is a great difference between the new and the old technology.
My students are highly motivated teenagers opting to take the extra step to make themselves better every day.
They have enrolled in Pre-Calculus with the hopes of taking AP Calculus. These students work hard to understand concepts and apply them to their lives and future careers. These students do their homework, spend countless hours attending tutoring sessions when they need help, and participate in extra curricular activities. The school is a Title One school, with an increasing number of students qualifying for free and reduced lunch. This means that more students need extra support in acquiring necessary supplies for success in their classes.
My Project
These calculators will be specifically assigned to the few students who do not have the resources to purchase their own graphing calculator. Currently, the students come in before and after school to borrow the classroom calculator to finish assignments. Providing a calculator for a student to keep for the school year will allow the student to work on math and science on their own time and essentially level the playing field with their peers.

These students are hard working, dedicated students, who never ask for a handout. Having a graphing calculator of their own will make them like the rest of their peers and help them to be successful.
