I cannot think of a better way to start the year than telling my orchestra that generous people have provided our instruments new strings. To open that box and show the kids how many new sets of strings we had was like Christmas morning. The kids were so excited as they know what new strings do to their sound. Our orchestra has grown from 40 to 50 students this year and we had to use every school instrument. Some of them have not had new strings in quite a while. Kids work harder when they know what they are playing sounds good. \r\n\r\nThis year we took the group to a state run orchestra fall festival. We are a group that has every level of player. It is a big step for us to go. The kids had greeater confidence knowing that the instruments were not going to detract from their festival performance and experience. They learned so much from the clinicians and your generosity helped make that possible.","fullyFundedDate":1752586545950,"projectUrl":"project/this-project-comes-with-strings-attached/9268645/","projectTitle":"This Project Comes With Strings Attached!","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Zimmerman","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp6079515_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1542835924119","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6079515"},{"teacherId":1054206,"projectId":9118271,"letterContent":"Your donation has made it possible for students to check out graphing calculators for the school year so that they have access to the same technology used in the classroom outside of class. \r\n\r\nIt is impossible to learn and practice upper level math without graphing technology and students prefer to use a handheld calculator compared to an app on their computer. Thanks to your generosity, every student now has their own copy of the book in their hands. The earbuds and portable chargers have been just as impactful—students can now listen to audiobooks without interruption, which has been such a gift for those who learn best by hearing the story read aloud.\r\n\r\nBecause of these resources, our classroom feels more engaged and alive. Discussions are richer, students are more confident in sharing their ideas, and struggling readers have the support they need to keep up and feel successful. I've seen students who once hesitated to read begin to follow along with excitement, and others who light up when they can listen and read at the same time.\r\n\r\nMany of my students face challenges outside of school, but having these reliable tools gives them the chance to focus on learning without extra stress. Watching them connect classroom learning with real-world systems has been truly inspiring.\r\n\r\nThanks to your kindness, the Media Center has transformed into more than just a place for books—it's become a place where students gather, create, and grow. The quest was to find the best whiteboard markers for doing math. The students created a list of criteria. The markers needed to be bright. There needed to be multiple colors available. The markers needed to erase and not ghost the boards. We tried many different brands. We tried different types. Eventually, it was determined that the V Board refillable whiteboard markers met all the desired requirements. It was a bonus that these markers are refillable. There are 13 whiteboard stations in my classroom and each station has a set of 5 markers. The markers get used a lot. For the most recent school year, we never lost a marker. Instead the markers were refilled each time they started to fade. It was very easy to manage and the students love these markers. They love doing math and the whiteboards. By providing these high quality and environmentally conscious marker refills, you are supporting an active learning environment and students are VERY appreciative of the great learning tools.","fullyFundedDate":1744032790890,"projectUrl":"project/more-ink-for-our-whiteboard-markers/9219679/","projectTitle":"More Ink for Our Whiteboard Markers","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Thomas","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp1054206_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1480225715610","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-thomasmvhs"},{"teacherId":6562374,"projectId":9111891,"letterContent":"I want to sincerely thank you for your generous donation of the VR set and the whiteboards with markers to our Spanish class.
