My Students

My school is Title I and located in a small North Carolina town. It has a diverse population in which the majority of the students are economically disadvantaged. Almost half of my students are also learning English as their second language. My students are full of enthusiasm about learning but often come to school without the necessary tools. As their teacher, I want to provide them with all of the resources they need in order to learn and be successful.

My Project

Children need to have multiple opportunities to move around each day. In order to get my students moving, I would like to provide them with some new fitness equipment and teach them some fun ways to exercise. This fitness equipment will provide my students with the gross motor stimulation they need, which in turn, will enhance their ability to focus their attention on learning.

Before playing any sport, you need to stretch and do some cardio exercises to warm up.

The jump ropes will be used to get the heart pumping faster. The Paddle Catch Ball and Toss Game as well as the football, foam discs and the playground balls will help the students develop eye-hand coordination which is important when playing many different types of sports. All of this equipment will be helpful in developing inner core strength and coordination. The best part is that the students will be having fun while they exercise.
