This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are a group of diverse, fun, happy and energetic firsties that enjoy hands on learning most! They are always enthusiastic and ready to take on the challenge of learning something new. They inspire me every day to be a better teacher!

My Project

My first graders desperately need up to date technology for our classroom! These new Amazon fire tablets will allow them to practice fun, engaging activities online that will help promote the five important components of reading: phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary, fluency and comprehension. It will also help us practice daily reading by logging into programs like Epic, which can only be accessed during school hours. High interest e-books, games and activities will help keep my students engaged and allow me the important and critical time that is needed for me to work with other students in small groups.
