Second grade is such an exciting group of mixed interests, abilities, and goals. My students are learning to read, write, while also learning how to be kind and make friends. Our group loves to play outside, learn new games, and read a good book with a buddy.
In this class, we work together to solve problems and learn with each other every day.
We are part of a larger school that celebrates the arts. My classroom is about building life skills and becoming inquirers. The work we do in this classroom is building relationships, following directions, and learning content in different ways. We work together to make this happen.
As a first year teacher, I had to buy a lot of my classroom supplies with my own money. As I continue working on organizing and setting up my very own first classroom, I knew we were missing one thing... a class carpet! Last year I student taught in a second grade classroom and we used the carpet every day, multiple times a day! We would start the day with a fun read aloud as a class at the carpet and discuss it afterward. I would often give directions for an activity at the carpet and then students are dismissed to desks to work together. We also enjoyed some fun and educational videos together at the carpet. Presentations done by my students were often done at the carpet to ensure we had a good listening audience. I know this will come in handy and help my students focus and learn in new ways!
Help us create a fun learning environment for everyone with this fun and colorful carpet for whole group learning!
