This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our students are amazing. They typically struggle to see how Science/Math affect their daily life. Their home lives are atypical and do not give them the best opportunity to succeed, but you wouldn't know it.
My students deserve the best opportunities that are out their to help them achieve their goals.
They are deserving of tools that will help them get out of their neighborhood and allow them to gain skills necessary to come back to help others, like them, achieve great things. Tools such as these would allow them to see how relevant Science and Math are to their daily life.
My Project
Having access to technology in our classroom will allow students to reach beyond the textbook examples and experience science in real life.
Our students need to understand how to use a computer when going into the work force.
We have 3 computer labs on campus and only one that has enough computers for all students in a class to work on during the same class period. Students would be able to use these chrome books to help fill the gaps at the computer labs on campus so every student can work on a computer at one time.
We are constantly fighting over computer lab time between 90 teachers on campus. Having a few chrome books in class would free up unnecessary lab time for the few students that need a little more time on their assignments. If they couldn't finish them in the computer lab.
More than half of students from low‑income households
