This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

First, thank you for visiting this page. I am a science teacher in Paterson, NJ. This year I was assigned Introduction to Drones to teach during part of the day. I started off the year with only a few working older drones. However, as the year progressed these drones began to fail and now my students are left with no drones to practice basic maneuvers with. We used these in conjunction with a computer simulator to practice. It is not currently in the budget to replace this valuable equipment in the foreseeable future.

The majority of the students who chose this elective were planning on taking the FAA tests to become properly certified and licensed for flying.

Without these integral pieces of equipment puts this in jeopardy. Currently we are limited to our computer simulations and some apps on our phones. Students are not getting any actual flying time in. As some students realized, the simulator does not react the same as real life drone. Using these drones will allow my students the necessary practice needed prior to flying our "big" drone.
