My Students

Our school is nearly 70% free and reduced lunch and is considered high poverty; but we continue to see our students exceed every year. We have exceeded our state goals the last four years but our students still have needs that are not met. The pandemic has taken a toll on our students in so many ways but each day they show up with smiles and ready to learn. I work with students with disabilities who want to learn and succeed even with multiple challenges. They miss out on some much and I feel my project can open up the world to them and get them up moving around.

My Project

My students have few opportunities to explore the world but with these materials I can open up the world to them with virtual field trips. They can walk the streets of Paris, visit the wonders of the world, see famous paintings up close, exploration experiences in art, health, history, language arts, and science. The possibilities are endless. With these headsets we can stand up and stop having our students staring into a computer to learn and stay fit in the process. We can provide interactive movement activities that will promote health and fitness. We try yoga during the day and grounding experiences but to be able to do those activities on a snow covered mountain or Yellowstone National Park is way more fun.
