Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are a variety of learners from all kinds of backgrounds. Some of our students have been going to school here for their entire career- others transferred in more recently. I had a new student arrive just last week!
I teach a multi-age classroom which means I am teaching 40 middle school students in a class for any given hour.
These students range in age from 10- 14 in grades 6th through 8th.
It's such a unique experience and we really utilize hands on learning so there is collaboration and discussion facilitating all students learning.
I truly love my students and their families. They are learning so much about themselves and the world in middle school and I am glad to be part of their journey.
I have tried to create my own escape room and have gone to the dollar store for my materials. It does limit me in combinations and I would love to be able to utilize something that has many potential uses and re-programmable pieces.
My Project
The Breakout Edu box allows me to be able to change up our learning. It is re-programmable, which means I don't have to buy new items every time we plan an escape room.
Escape rooms are an exciting way to get students to collaborate and problem solve.
They are learning and having fun while being challenged. It's a win-win!
With the Breakout Edu box our classroom would be able to access the platform as well as complete games that I would make specifically for my students in the unit that we are studying.
I have the passion and drive to make learning exciting for my students- I would so greatly appreciate help in funding the adventure!
