My students are energetic, excited about school and come to class ready to learn and with lots of questions. They are digital natives and need access to technology in the classroom in order to be competitive in the 21st century.
More than half of our students come from low-income families.
Our families are involved and do their best to provide support and materials to the classroom and teachers, but sometimes it is not enough to take our students' learning to the next level.
My Project
These Cricut supplies will allow my students to use critical thinking skills to make creative projects in our Leadership Class. In Leadership Class students are introduced to and explore new ideas, skills, and concepts that are interesting to them, including working and making things for our Student Store and for the community.
Cricut Maker projects are STEM projects and are opportunities for students to engage in self-exploration of their own interests and dreams.
They are also opportunities to practice the 7 Habit of Leadership.
The creation of Cricut Maker projects builds student confidence and develops prerequisite skills that students will need later in their lives. It also provides a safe place for students to try something new and work with materials and supplies that would otherwise be unavailable to them. We will be making items for the community, for the school and for others.
