My students need 3 DSLR cameras for yearbook purposes. Students will be learning photography skills, 21st Century skills, and producing a yearbook for our high school.

My Students

Our school struggles to produce a yearbook, & one of our biggest challenges to achieving this goal is accessibility to advanced technology. These DSLR cameras would get us there! Co-taught class of Art & English Teachers. "Sometimes things become possible if we want them bad enough" T.S.Elliot

ACPA is a public charter school where kids elect to come seeking a safe environment away from bullying.

We were voted Charter School of the Year in Ohio. Our students come from 14 different school districts, where many do not have transportation. Our student body is diverse, and while we have no sports in this school, we focus on the arts through several outlets including after-school programs. Our students are expected to embrace diversity and respect all. This is a unique setting where students are able to express themselves in different ways, and we hope to create a class and curriculum that allows them to challenge and grow even more.

My Project

Students will be using the DSLR cameras along with an online yearbook design program. The cameras would allow students to learn about new technology, the digital photography curriculum, as well as the design layouts of graphic design. Students will be attending events in and out of school to capture candid and staged photos. Students will gain interview skills and use the cameras to take professional photos. Example: every senior would be showcased with a description of where they are headed in the future. The technology of DSLR cameras is a vital part of creating a solid yearbook. Please consider donating to this project, and allowing students to create a yearbook of lasting memories.

Donations to this class will improve the yearbook by allowing students to produce a much more professional book.

Students in digital photography class will be able to produce top-end projects, and the current curriculum would be improved with this new technology. Students will be continually learning about the amazing works of photography through this donation and capture timeless photos to help not only their class, but the entire school. Please consider donating to this project.
