This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This year I have the privilege of teaching a special group of 2nd-grade students on the southeast side of San Antonio. I love this community and our school had been serving children for more than 60 years!

Our building is old and can use some TLC!

This year, I moved into a classroom that feels like a tropical rainforest. It is hot and very humid. Even when the A/C has been serviced, the building is so old not much can be done to help.

We are hoping for a brand new school in the upcoming years but I know this year we will have to withstand the heat. So, we are asking for any donations to help us with a portable A/C that also is a dehumidifier! I want my kids to learn in a comfortable environment and love coming to school. Our school is one of the high performing elementary in SAISD but we surely can use a little help making our classroom cool and comfortable!
