In an ever-changing world, students leaving the public school system must be well established in using technology.

Most of my students come to me from underprivileged homes and lack the resources to get this kind of experience. Our school is located in a high poverty, low-income, rural area and the opportunities to learn through technology are difficult to obtain.

My Project

In our classroom, we have a few antiquated computers, a Promethean (smartboard) and one ipad (that was gained through a donation.) I like to model on the ipad how to use the educational apps that I have downloaded and I spend a lot of time showing one or two students at a time how to use them. These adapters would be used to connect the ipad to the computer which will then project it to the Promethean board so that the entire class can benefit from the instruction on the ipad.

I am excited to receive this donation because my students will be given a better opportunity to utilize our class ipad and the technology that comes with it.

The educational apps that students can use with this will go far in helping them not only learn how to read and develop math concepts more easily but also strengthens their grasp on the use of technology that is required of us more and more each day.
