My Project

At my school, our goal is to create a soccer experience where every student has a role, is moving, and is developing soccer skills.

Our students come from a historically underserved community, and PE can provide an important opportunity to experience success, teamwork, belonging, and healthy physical activity.

We are requesting equipment that will allow our students to build fundamental skills.

We want to make soccer accessible, engaging, and successful for every student, regardless of previous experience or athletic ability.

This unit will focus on developing practical skills that students can use immediately during soccer games and activities. Students will practice:

Dribbling & controlling the ball

Shielding the ball from an opponent

Aiming & shooting toward a target

Foot touches & close ball control

Passing & receiving

Changing direction with the ball

Maintaining possession

Attacking space

Defending space

Offense & defense

Communication & teamwork

Decision-making while moving with & without the ball

The inflatable soccer pits will allow students to practice skills in a smaller, clearly defined space. The close quarters will encourage students to keep the ball close to their feet, make quick decisions, protect the ball, change direction, and react to defenders. Rather than having students stand in lines waiting for their turn, our activities will keep students actively involved in learning skills, making decisions, and working with teammates.

The soccer pits will make it possible to create multiple activities at the same time. Students can work in small groups instead of waiting for one large game to finish.

For example, one group may be practicing soccer dribbling and foot touches, while another group is working on soccer shielding and defense. Other students can be practicing passing, shooting, aiming, or supporting teammates. This means that every student has a soccer role and every student is practicing soccer skills.
