This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are extremely creative- they find different ways to express themselves every day. Art is their absolute favorite!

I am the teacher of our self-contained special education program.

Our class includes 19 students who grades range from Kinder to 6th grade all who have disabilities ranging from autism, cerebral palsy, genetic deletions, intellectual disabilities, and others. Our school is a Title 1 school- which means 90% of our students are on free or reduced lunch.

My Project

Art projects are one of the most engaged activities to help build fine motor skills. These supplies will help my students bring out their creativity. All of these supplies are used for very different activities- everything from holiday projects to academic related projects.

This project will make a difference in my classroom by giving my students the supplies to engage in art projects that help them express what they are learning.

The cutting, drawing, and gluing help build fine motor skills that will help them in the rest of their lives. Most importantly, the supplies(glitter, paint, paint brushes, tissue paper, construction paper) will help my students have fun!
