My Project

The Big Show--mention this event to anyone at my school, and their eyes will widen. Students and teachers excitedly recall shows of the past and are eager to learn about the next production. My school is the district's arts magnet school, a place where arts integration is enthusiastically embraced, and we are encouraged to experience education creatively.

Imagine a stage of students playing rhythms on giant bees and singing to the tune of "Old Town Road," "We're gonna take our bees to the Hive Yard Ranch; we're gonna fly 'til we can't no more." That is the vision for the final fantastical scene of this year's production of Inspiration Nation, an original play written for our third through 5th-grade students to perform.

Students will bring a bee-wrangling dude ranch to life through music, theatre, and dance. To do this, we need yellow exercise equipment to turn into giant bee drums. The requested costumes will help in the transformation. Students not playing on the giant bees will have smaller playground ball bees to perform a rhythmic bouncing routine or they will use the bee balloons to move around the space.

You have the opportunity to help bring Hive Yard Ranch to life! We hope you are inspired to join us on our adventure to Inspiration Nation by helping us get the materials we need. The results are going to be "bee-utiful!"
