The students that I am lucky enough to call mine are creative, imaginative, thoughtful, and full of questions! My students love to participate in hands-on, engaging, active projects that allow them to use their problem-solving skills to find solutions. These students are very computer savy and love using technology to enhance their learning. The hybrid students come to school eager and ready to learn! These children truly inspire us each and every day.
My classroom consists of 42 wonderful students around 46% of which qualify for free or reduced-price lunches.
While the students in our classroom all enjoy learning, they are currently struggling because of difficulties with technology in Zoom. My students are currently struggling to hear us and they feel disconnected from their classmates that are learning from home. I am asking for 2 Bluetooth microphone headsets to help my students hear me and 2 additional monitors so that the in class students are able to see their friends at home while we are collaborating and discussing together! Having these additional tools will really help us to build a stronger community in our classroom!
My Project
The items that we have requested will help to make the classroom more accessible for my students that are learning from home. They will also help my virtual students to feel more connected with their peers who are learning from class.
These students did not choose to have their school experience upended by COVID-19 and we need to do everything we can to help them be successful!
The monitors we have requested will be used to provide the teacher with an additional screen to help families with technology issues while the other monitor is being used to allow in class students to see their peers at home! The microphones will help me with feedback in the classroom and allow the students to hear me more clearly while they are participating in classroom discussions! The lighting will help my students to see me better when I am teaching!
